What are good books to read or good movies to watch after a bad breakup?
My boyfriend of a year and half and I have decided to break it off. But it wasn’t exactly mutual and it ended pretty badly. I feel so much pain but I really want to do things to keep my mind off of everything thats going on. If theres anyone who can help me out with the names of any good books or great movies to watch during this difficult time, it’d be much appreciated.
most people tell you to not be sad or cry and to read happy books, watch funny movies and listen to energetic songs.
however, i disagree. I think that by ignoring your feelings you are only setting yourself up to hurt longer.
let yourself be sad, let yourself cry, lay in bed and spend the day moping around. it’s okay to do this, as long as you dont go overboard.
with that being said:
i dunno if you’re a twilight fan or not, but reading New Moon was a comforting read when my ex and i broke up. Stephenie Meyer explains how it feels to have your heartbroke so well and the book is basically about how Bella deals with no longer having Edward in her life. It’s comforting to read because it helps you realize that other people have went through bad break up before and that you will survive it.
as for movies:
The break up scene between Allie and Noah in the Notebook always broke my heart.
the Break Up was a good movie too as well as Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
